Respect for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I)

Respect for Group Human Rights

The Fuji Seal Group has established in Our Credo - "Each day with renewed commitment we create new value" and states in the Code of Ethics, that we comply with laws and regulations of each country and region in which our business activities are conducted, as well as understand that all business activities are based on the premise of respecting Group Human rights.

FSG respects the human rights laid down in the International Bill of Human Rights (Universal Declaration of Human Rights and International Covenant on Human Rights) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. We will also support the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights: Implementing the United Nations "Protect, Respect and Remedy" Framework and conduct our business activities accordingly.

For the creation of an employee friendly working environment
Respect for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Within FSG, a diverse, inclusive and equitable workplace is one where all employees, consultants, external workers, customers, business partners, visitors, students and volunteers, whatever their gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, sexual orientation, identity, education or disability, feels heard, valued and respected.

We believe that employees are the key to our success and growth, and nothing can be achieved without strong engagement of employees.

We recognize the value of our employees, including all their knowledge, expertise, abilities, skillsets and experience and we believe that the best ideas come from cooperation between people with diverse values and backgrounds.
Inclusion and diversity are the driving force for improving the creativity of individuals and teams and they are an integrated part within our Mission, Vision and Credo.

Group DE&I statement and commitment

We are committed to a non-discriminatory approach and provide inclusion and equal opportunity for employment and advancement in all of our departments, programs and worksites.

With a history dating over 125 years and our current approach within FSG, it is key that our employees appreciate diversity in norms, values, beliefs, customs and points of view. Our employees value and include different approaches and perspectives and consider diversity of thought as an asset to lift us to a higher level.

We believe that when our employees feel included and valued, they will with pleasure and excitement (Waku-Waku) do everything possible to realize our company mission and vision.

A global DE&I Policy has been established. Please see the link to the full policy, with our complete definitions, statement, commitment, and actions.

DE&I Committee

FSG has established a Global DE&I Committee with members of all regions and with various backgrounds. The DE&I committee ensures that diverse perspectives are heard and valued on a global scale. By fostering an inclusive environment, the committee helps us tap into a rich variety of ideas and experiences. It goes beyond borders to promote fairness, equality, and understanding across our global team. The Global DE&I Committee is a key driver in creating a workplace where everyone feels respected, supported, and empowered to contribute their best. The committee is supported by our Top Management, Regional HR and Regional Senior Management.

The Global DE&I committee and the regional DE&I members are moving forward step by step. Since each region has different focus points within the DE&I spectrum, our approach is based on the regional needs. From a Global DE&I point of view we have been working on several DE& Awareness training programs, for Top and Senior management as well as for the Global DE&I Committee members. These trainings will be rolled out in the first half of 2024 and have as purpose enabling the participants to understand DE&I topics deeply, how to take proper actions, how to take pro-active leadership and how to utilize it to motivate, engage and empower all of our employees in a diverse, equitable and inclusive working environment, to enhance even more Waku-Waku among all FSG employees.

Japan has very specific challenges to DE&I initiatives, partly because of its unique culture and social structure.
That is why we believe it is important to learn about the mindset and initiatives of other regions through the Global DE&I Committee, broaden our perspective, and incorporate them into Japan's efforts.

Rebecca Ubben

I am excited to be a part and a leader of the Americas DE&I initiatives. In North America we are embracing a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture into our communities and will have 4 pillars that drive changes to create a diverse and inclusive environment.
We want everyone to feel valued and encouraged to be a part of our Fuji Seal community. Our focus will be communication, motivation, opportunity, and onboarding to grow and understand each other.

Cristina Carbonell

I am very proud to be part of the Global DE&I Committee.
In Europe, cultural and social diversity is a fundamental part of our identity and Fuji Seal wants to embrace this cultural richness.
The DE&I Committee also plays a crucial role in creating a diverse work environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and has equal opportunities to thrive in all areas and levels of the organization. Together we can build a better future for everyone!

As part of the DE&I committee for the ASEAN region, we work closely with people from different cultures, ethnicities, and religions.
As a diverse region, we are thrilled to exchange ideas and suggestions from different viewpoint to reduce the gaps.
We are honored and grateful to be part of Global DE&I committee. Let’s generate Waku-Waku (excitement) together!

Our committee activities are divided into 4 categories: Strategy, Culture, Recruitment & Onboarding and Development and Growth. Step by step we are continuously improving deep understanding of our management and employees of DE&I topics, and making sure we are taking proper actions, show pro-active leadership and motivate, engage, and empower all of our employees in a diverse, equitable and inclusive working environment, to enhance even more Waku-Waku (excitement) among all FSG employees.
